Full day in Toronto!
Our team started the day working at the hotel. We created the blog and worked out the title and style. The goal is to provide a daily team update that outlines what happened on that day. Our individual blog posts will be more specific to topics, thoughts, and subjects from our own experiences. We will each share our perspectives on what the day had in store. This should provide a variety of posts that range in length and substance.

Our first stop for the day was to visit the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto (NCCT). To get there, we took a public transit bus to the subway, and then walked a few blocks. It was a day of firsts. There was a first sighting of a black squirrel, a first public transit bus ride, first subway rides, and first guided tour in Toronto.
From the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto home page:
“Native Canadian Centre of Toronto is a membership-based, charitable organization located in the heart of downtown Toronto in a beautifully renovated heritage building. NCCT offers a wide range of programs and services based on Indigenous cultural traditions and teachings. All are welcome.”
Charles was our tour guide. He gave us an informative tour that not only showcased the building and its history, but also talked about the various programs and services the centre provides.
In the photo gallery, you will see a few of the art pieces on display throughout the centre. You could spend your entire visit just admiring the artwork. We recommend a visit to the NCCT to anyone planning a trip to Toronto. See the individual blog updates from the team for more information on the NCCT tour.
After the NCCT tour, our team took the subway to downtown Toronto to have dinner and a visit to the St. Lawrence Market.
From the St. Lawrence Market website:
“It’s one of the world’s great markets – each merchant a square on a lively and authentic patchquilt. The mothers, sons, fathers and daughters whose hard work and passion for food and their craft make up the collective story of the Market. You’re here, and part of the story. There’s so much to see, taste and discover – now, where to begin?”
To wrap up the adventures for Day 2, we checked out a local concert at Division 88. The band playing was Boston Levi. They are from Ontario and one of Ashley’s favorite artists. We were lucky enough to catch the first show on their mini tour. You can find their music on all music streaming platforms. If you want more information about the show, check back for Ashley’s separate blog update.
